Sponsored by SIPO, European Patent Office (EPO) and Sichuan Provincial People's Government, the International Seminar on Traditional Medicine is held on December 16-17 in Chengdu, Sichuan Province. Li Yuguang, SIPO Deputy Commissioner, Pedro Osona, Director of the EPO's China Program and Cai Jing, Deputy Secretary General of Sichuan Provincial People's Government attend the opening ceremony of the seminar.

Nearly 30 experts from IP departments and administration departments of traditional medicine from China, EPO, Brazil, Indonesia, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam participate in the seminar. Participants conduct in-depth exchanges on the experience and practices of traditional medicine protection and utilization in their respective countries and regions.

Traditional medicine protection and utilization is a hot topic that has drawn wide concern from China and international community. The seminar attracts experts of traditional medicine protection from participating countries and regions, providing a platform for experts in traditional medicine and IP sectors to exchange views and learn from each other.
