Shanghai Stresses IPR
Enhancing the administrative enforcement of intelligence property rights (IPR) is crucial as corporations adapt to current economic challenges by striving to improve product quality and developing their own brands.
Shanghai delegation to the 103rd China Import and Export Fair said it attaches great importance to IPR and has undertaken wide-ranging publicity and educational work to improve exhibitors' awareness of the importance of IPR before and during the fair.
As part of the work, the delegation released regulations urging Shanghai exhibitors to protect IPR during the fair and implemented an accountability system to supervise exhibitors' protection of IPR.
In the lead-up to the fair the delegation held nine IPR training programs for exhibitors in the first three months this year.
Before the fair opened, the delegation carefully examined all exhibits. It also called all Shanghai exhibitors to a meeting during which it reaffi rmed IPR regulations issued by the fair and the delegation itself.
New measures this year include discontinuing temporary certificates and a watchdog to
check compliance.
The framework also bridges the work of management and exhibition booths to protect IPR.
The logos of more than 20 famous global brands have been distributed to all personnel to ensure their work has a clear guidance.
They also established a database to record companies that violate any regulation.
The Shanghai delegation has implemented several methods to ensure protection work is smooth, including a feedback system.
As well, all branch delegations have the responsibility of supervising their exhibitors' implementation of IPR protection. If any exhibitor violates regulations, the branch delegations must report it to the delegations' leaders.
It is also praising exhibitors who have well protected IPR, a move they believe will strengthen management of IPR protection.
