Zero Tariffs for 90% of China-ASEAN Trade Products in 2010

Recently, the sixth China-ASEAN Expo and the sixth China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit kicked off their opening ceremonies in the Nanning International Conference and Exhibition Center of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and deputy Premier of the State Council Li Keqiang attended the meeting, declared the opening of the sixth China-ASEAN Expo and addressed the Business and investment Summit.

Based on the data offered by the organizing committee, the five-day sixth China-ASEAN Expo has set up branch halls for the first time and arranged the exhibition booths as many as 4000.

Such Expo focuses on China-ASEAN ten major cooperation areas to host theme activities, including a series of high-level forums and conferences, such as China-ASEAN Customs and business circles cooperation forum, China-ASEAN leaders forum for financial cooperation and development, and China-ASEAN agriculture cooperation and development forum. During the Expo, a series of commercial trade campaigns will be carried out, including trade matchmaking symposium, exhibitor presentation forum, purchasing conference, projects matchmaking symposium and profession forum.

In January 2010, China-ASEAN Free Trade Area will be completed as planned. So the topic is also the major one of the Expo. Li pointed out that China-ASEAN Free Trade Area will be completed on January 1, 2010 as scheduled, when zero tariffs will be subject to 90% of trade products of both parties and the service trade market will be substantively opened.
