New Rules to Support SME Loans
[2010-02-25 11:20:21]
China's banking regulator has announced that it will issue new rules on loans issued to small and medium enterprises, or SMEs. The move aims to give more financial support to these enterprises.
China Banking Regulatory Commission says the new rules, which will be released later this year, are more tolerant to non-performing SME loans. In addition, the Commission will relax certain limitations on SME loans when necessary, under the premise that risks are controllable. In 2009, loans issued to SMEs grew at faster pace than other types. The banking regulator says it will take a series of measures to further support SME loans.
