China to Provide Finance and Tax Support for Energy Performance Contracting

Based on China Government Net on April 6, to speed up the implementation of Energy Performance Contracting (EPC) and boost the development of the energy saving service industry, China will provide the support in finance and taxation.
Pursuant to the Opinions on Speeding up the Implementation of the Energy Performance Contracting to Promote the Development of the Energy Saving Service Industry jointly formulated by the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Finance, the People's Bank of China and the General Administration of Taxation, governments shall properly adopt supporting policies in the aspects of finance and taxation for the energy saving service industry.
Among them, the business tax shall be temporarily exempted for the payable income in the business tax in the energy performance contracting projects implemented by the energy saving service companies and the value-added tax shall be exempted for the assets formed by implementing the energy performance contracting projects transferred to energy consumption units without compensation.
