It is learnt on April 15 from the 107th Canton Fair that, Ministry of Commerce of the PRC (MOC) will increase efforts on IPR protection for enterprise exhibitors overseas and build a fine IPR environment for them.

Director of the Department of Treaty and Law of MOC Li Ling expressed that, China has become one of the key resources for exhibitors overseas for internationally famous exhibitions. However, infringements among those Chinese exhibitors attending the exhibition overseas happened sometimes due to the weak awareness on IPR protection of some enterprises, which threatened the personal and financial safety of Chinese enterprise exhibitors and also influenced the international reputation of Chinese products. Some countries even took a batch of famous large Chinese enterprises as the key targets of investigation.

Since the beginning of last year, related Chinese departments took a series of measures, including setting up service stations at the exhibition for Chinese enterprises for on-site consultation and mediation, cooperating with IPR law enforcement departments to strive for an advantageous situation for Chinese enterprise exhibitors.

Besides, MOC and other departments boost the establishment of a long and effective cooperative mechanism with the organizer of the exhibition, form a wonderful platform for these enterprise exhibitors and reinforce the administration of exhibitors and products and trainings to enhance the IPR protection awareness.

The situation of IPR protection at oversea exhibitors that Chinese enterprise attended is much better than before, said Li.

It is learnt that, MOC will go on reinforcing the IPR protection at exhibitions overseas this year, intensify the propaganda and trainings for enterprises, increase enterprises' IPR awareness; it will set up the service stations in the future exhibitions as well and increase the communication and cooperation with the organizers, law enforcement departments and IPR owners.
