Industry Tip: Import of Virgin Edible Oils Requires Quarantine Certificates

To ensure the quality safety of imported olive oils and fight against fraud, the State entry-exit inspection and quarantine authorities strengthened the supervision and control on imported olive oils.

Staff with the inspection and quarantine authorities reminds the importing enterprises that, for importing virgin edible vegetable oils, enterprises shall provide plant quarantine certificates issued by the animal and plant quarantine authorities of the export countries or local governments while applying for the inspection, and specify in the contracts; without the official plant quarantine certificates in effect issued by the export countries, all the imports shall be retuned or destroyed.
