Announcement on Permitting Import of Relevant Products from Foot-and-Mouth Disease Countries (Joint Announcement No. 99, 2010) by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of China, the Ministry of Agriculture of China

To prevent foot-and-mouth disease and protect the safety of animal husbandry and human health, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of P. R. China and the Ministry of Agriculture of P. R. China successively issued Announcements on banning the importation of relevant animals and their products from countries or regions infected with foot-and mouth disease.
Based on risk analysis assessment, from now on, the import banning measures on dairy products to prevent the foot-and-mouth disease shall be cancelled and allow the importation of dairy products of healthy animals that can not transmit foot-and-mouth disease virus through processing from countries and regions infected with foot-and-mouth disease.
The import of dairy products shall comply with relevant laws and regulations in China, those unqualified shall not enter the country.
Dairy products allowed to be carried by passengers or mailed shall be only limited to milk powder.
