The Ministry of Commerce Releases China's Import Tariff Quota Allocation of Fertilizer in 2011

On December 29, 2010, the Ministry of Commerce of the P. R. China issued an Announcement on its website concerning China's allocation of import tariff quotas of fertilizer in 2011.

According to the Announcement, in 2011, China's total import tariff quotas of fertilizer shall be respectively: 6.90 million tons of diammomium phosphate, 3.30 million tons of urea, and 3.45 million tons of compound fertilizer.

As per the Announcement, units with tariff quota of fertilizer may undertake relevant import certificates as from January 1, 2011. And units with State-owned trade quota shall entrust State-owned trading enterprises as import agents other than non-State-owned trading enterprises. The State-owned trade quota shall be specified with "State-owned trade" in the Import Tariff Quotas Certificate of Fertilizer, while non-State-owned trade quota shall be specified with "non-State-owned trade" in the Import Tariff Quotas Certificate of Fertilizer.

In addition, the Ministry of Commerce also released on the same day the list of China's phosphate ore exporting enterprises in 2011, and issued the first batch of 900,000 tons of export quotas.
