Announcement No. 87, 2010 of the General Administration of Customs of the P. R. China (GACC)

For the purpose of facilitating consignors/consignees of import/export goods and their agents to correctly determine the commodity classification of their goods, minimizing classification disputes, and ensuring uniform enforcement by customs authorities of the commodity classification law, the General Administration of Customs has decided to promulgate to the public the Decision on China Customs Commodity Classification in 2010 (determined by the 13th meeting of the HS Commodity Classification Technical Committee) (relevant details offered in the Annex), according to the Administrative Regulations of the Customs of the People's Republic of China on the Commodity Classification of Import and Export Goods (GACC Decree No. 158).

This batch of classification decisions shall come into force as from December 28, 2010 with the simultaneous repeal of the GACC classification decisions Z2009-0081 (commodity concerned: LED Light Source) and Z2008-0213 (commodity concerned: Light Emitting Diode).

Any decisions on commodity classification shall cease to be effective at the time of any changes made in their governing laws, administrative regulations, and other governing provisions.
