According to China Securities Journal, the Ministry of Finance of China is planning to lower export refund rates for some commodities including some aluminum profiles and stainless steel rods.

Export refund rate for some aluminum profiles will be lowered from current 13% to 9%, and that for stainless steel bars, rods, profiles and wires are likely to be cancelled, while their current rate is 5%.

But relevant departments do not think boron steels are likely to be involved in the adjustment, because of difficulty in demarcation of steels.

Besides, industry insiders estimate that aluminum strips/plates and aluminum foils, which are respectively under refund rates of 13% and 15%, are likely to follow the change of aluminum profiles.
