On April 21, 2011, China's Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) issued its Announcement No. 17, 2011, on imposing anti-dumping duties ranging from 4.7% to 29.1% on dispersion unshifted single-mode optical fibers originating in the U.S. and EU for a period of 5 years.

This investigated optical fiber is extensively used in high-speed long-distance transmission, like long-distance communication, trunk line, cable television and loop circuit.

This commodity is under Chinese HS code 90011000. However the investigation didn't include other types of optical fibers, fiber-optic bundles and optic cables under that HS code.

From April 22, 2011, importers should be imposed anti-dumping duties of 4.7%-29.1% regulated in the final ruling while they import such optical fibers from the U.S. and the EU.
