Announcement No. 10, 2012 of the General Administration of Customs of China (GACC)

According to China-New Zealand Free Trade Agreement, China conducts special safeguard measures against 11 HS Codes-covered agricultural products originating in New Zealand (NZ).

On February 21, 2012, the GACC published on its website (www.customs.gov.cn) the import quantity nearing the special safeguard-triggering level for 2012 regarding the non-concentrated milk and creams with fat more than 1% (HS Codes 04021000, 04022100, 04022900, 04029100) from New Zealand.

Up to February 29, 2012, the agricultural products aforesaid have been imported at declared 116,748.7 tons, outnumbering 2012's special safeguard-triggering 115,473 tons; so, from March 1, 2012, import duties shall be levied at Most-Favored-Nation rates on such import agricultural products belonging to the China-New Zealand Free Trade Agreement.

Regarding the duties on in-transit imports and other matters, GACC Announcement No. 91, 2008 prevails.
