GACC Announcement No. 11, 2013 Safeguards Agst. New Zealand Cheeses

In accordance with China-New Zealand Free Trade Agreement, China is conducting special safeguard measures against New Zealand agricultural products under 12 HS Codes.
On March 8, 2013, the General Administration of Customs of China (GACC) announced over the www.customs.gov.cn website that the import volume of New Zealand cheeses (HS Codes04061000, 04063000, 04069000) has approached the Chinese safeguard triggering norm of 2013.
Till March 14, 2013, the cheeses herein imported from New Zealand have totaled 4,751.514 tons and exceeded the safeguard-triggering 4,595 tons of 2013.
So, as of March 15, 2013, the cheeses from New Zealand shall be subjected to China's import duties at the Most-Favored Nation rates; as regards the imports in transit, their duty rates shall resort to GACC Announcement No. 91 of 2008.
