GACC Announcement No.16, 2014 on Special Safeguard against New Zealand Butter & Grease

In accordance with China-New Zealand Free Trade Agreement, China may conduct special safeguard measures against New Zealand agricultural products under 12 HS Codes.
Till February 12, 2014, the GACC revealed that the imports of butter and grease (HS Codes 04051000 and 04059000) from New Zealand into China have been declared 13,716.831 tons, exceeding the Chinese safeguard triggering norm of 12,597 tons for 2014; hence, as of February 13, 2014, the import duties shall be levied on such New Zealand products at China's MFN duty rates; as regards such imports in transit, their duty applications shall resort to GACC Announcement No. 91 of 2008.
