GACC Announcement No.85, 2016 on Origin Certificate Submission under China-South Korea FTA

In order to facilitate electronic exchange of cargo origin information under China-South Korea Free Trade Agreement (FTA), hereby announced are the matters with submission of the Certificate of Origin:
1. As regards the import goods declared for the FTA conventional duties, the Customs will no longer require the importer to submit original copy of the Certificate of Origin during the declaration process; where necessary, the importer shall submit the original copy as required, however.
2. Where pre-entry client side indicates no information for relevant Certificate of Origin, the importer shall, as per GACC Decree No.229 regulations, supplement the origin declaration and may apply for the FTA conventional duties and for guarantee-based release of goods.
This Announcement shall enter into force on 28 December 2016.
