GACC Announcement No.36, 2017 on Tariff Notes Revisions

The “Notes for Commodity Items of Import & Export Tariff” (hereinafter referred to as “Tariff Notes”) is an important basis of commodity classification. In accordance with World Customs Organization (WCO)-made “Explanatory Notes to the Harmonized Commodity Description and Coding System” of 2017, China Customs has formulated Chinese “Tariff Notes” of 2017 that has been effective since 1 January 2017.
Recently, in accordance with WCO revision of the HS Notes, China Customs also revised the Chinese “Tariff Notes” of 2017 (see the annexes for details).
The Chinese revisions will enter into effect on 1 September 2017.
