ECFA Enables Tariff Cuts for Goods Sold to Taiwan from Xinjiang

On March 23, 2011, China's inspection and quarantine authority in its Xinjiang Region issued a Certificate of Origin under the Chinese mainland-Taiwan region Economic Cooperation Framework Agreement (ECFA), with a certified value of USD 260,000, for a batch of PBT resins sold to Taiwan region by Xinjiang TunHe Polyester Co., Ltd., which are to be favored with a tariff cut around USD 6,500 according to this ECFA.

By that ECFA, tariff concessions of 1%-10% and down to zero tariff may be applied stepwise and batch-wise within 3 years to 267 kinds of commodities including petroleum chemicals, machinery, and textiles sold from Chinese mainland to Taiwan region.

According to the web portal of China Customs, China Customs have put into force from 2011 the Administrative Measures on origins of import and export goods under that ECFA.
