Mexico Issued Sunset Anti-dumping Review on High Carbon Ferromanganese Originated from China

The Ministry of Economic Affairs in Mexico recently issued announcement to release the sunset anti-dumping review decision on high carbon ferromanganese originated from China, and the relevant issues were announced as followings:

First, on February 8th 2010, the Official Daily released announcement that Mexico made sunset anti-dumping decision on high carbon ferromanganese originated from China to continue to impose anti-dumping tariff on Chinese high carbon ferromanganese (HS Code: 7202.1101) with the anti-dumping tariff rate to be adjusted from 54.34% to 21%. Such tariff rate had been implemented since September 26th 2008 with the valid period of five years.

Second, on April 25th 2002, the Ministry of Economic Affairs in Mexico initiated anti-dumping investigation on high carbon ferromanganese originated from China. On September 25th 2003, the Ministry of Economic in Mexico made final decision on such case to levy 54.34% anti-dumping tariff rate on related product imported from China.

Third, on September 21st 2006, for the reply of Mexico domestic enterprises, the Ministry of Economic in Mexico released announcement on its Official Daily to reiterate to impose anti-dumping tariff on high carbon ferromanganese imported from China based on the aforementioned rate.

Fourth, on February 22nd 2008, the Ministry of Economic in Mexico issued announcement on Official Daily that the time limit of anti-dumping investigation on high carbon ferromanganese imported from China would be expired. On August 20th 2008, Mexico COMPAÑIA MINERA AUTLÁN S.A.B DE C.V. Company made application to the Ministry of Economic in Mexico, to request the review of aforementioned anti-dumping investigation to be continued, with the suggested investigation time period for the review from January 1st 2008 to June 30.

Fifth, on September 24th 2008, the Ministry of Economic issued announcement on Official Daily, to initiate final review of anti-dumping on high carbon ferromanganese imported from China since September 25th 2008. The HS Code of products involved in the case is 72021101. The time limit of review investigation was from July 1st 2007 to June 30th 2008.
