It was reported from Ita-Tass on March 11 that the Department of Industry and Trade of Russia started safeguard measure investigation on imported hard candy. The HS codes of hard candies involved 1704907100'1704907500'1806905001'1806905002 and 1806905009.

It was stated that the major importers were Ukraine, China, Germany and Poland. The import volume increased by 119.5 percent from 2006 to 2008 and went up 42 percent in the first half of 2009 year on year, while the import price dropped 14.5 percent over the first half of 2008.
