According to a report on August 20, 2010 from the Tribune, as per an official with the materials recycling company of Bahamas, the Chinese Government's import tariff of 18% on the waste hardboards originating in Bahamas hit its plan of preparing to export more waste hardboards to China.
As per the company's director, Francisco Cardenas, since April 2010, the company has exported 100 tons of reusable hardboards to China, and there is another 60 tons to be recycled. However, China's tariff of 18% will affect its export competitiveness.
According to the company, China is their largest export market of reusable hardboards.
