The EU Levies Provisional Anti-Dumping Duty on Chinese Melamine

On Nov. 16, 2010, the European Commission issued an Announcement on the imposition of a provisional anti-dumping duty on melamine from China. Three enterprises responding to the proceeding received a separate judgment with duty rates ranging from 44.9% to 49%, while the duty rate for other enterprises shall be 65.2%.
On Feb. 17, 2010, the European Commission initiated an anti-dumping investigation into the melamine originating in China. A total of 45 enterprises were involved, of which 5 responded.
In 2009, the export value of Chinese melamine into Europe amounted to USD 18.27 million.
