According to the report on the website of Ministry of Industry and Trade on March 17, the European Commission issued a bulletin on March 16, announcing that from March 31, 2011 EU would officially end the anti-dumping duties against Chinese and Vietnamese leather shoes, but would monitor Chinese and Vietnam imports for one year on these products to prevent the risk of dumping again.

It was reported that in October 2006 the EU accused China and Vietnam of "dumping" shoes into the European market, and started to impose a 16.5 percent tariff on Chinese shoes and a 10 percent tariff on Vietnamese shoes.
