China to Levy Antidumping Duty on EU Potato Starch

[2011-04-18 15:13:28]

China will levy an antidumping duty on potato starch imports from the European Union, effective April 19, the Commerce Ministry said on April 18, 2011.

The antidumping duty will range from 12.6%-56.7%, depending on the dumping margin, the ministry said in an interim review ruling, but didn't specify how long the measure will last. The dumping margin is the difference between the normal value in the country of origin and the export price.

It accused several EU companies, including Netherlands's ABEVE and France's Roquette Freres S.A. of dumping.

Potato starch is mainly used in the food industry in China.
