China Imposes on Anti-Dumping Measures on Optical Fiber Imports from the U.S., EU

China's Ministry of Commerce will levy anti-dumping duties ranging from 4.7% to 29.1% depending on the extent of dumping on imports of a type of optical fiber from the U.S. and the E.U., according to the ministry's final ruling on the matter.

Companies that import dispersion unshifted single-mode optical fiber, which is used in the telecommunications industry, from the U.S. and E.U. will have to pay deposits on the fiber to the customs bureau, the ministry said.

The measure will remain in place for five years, it added.

The extent of dumping is determined by the difference between the import price and fair value, the ministry said earlier.
