The U.S. Launches "Double-Anti" Investigations on China's Galvanized Steel Wires

On April 20, 2011, the U.S. Department of Commerce announced the decision to launch anti-dumping and anti-subsidy investigations on galvanized steel wires originating in China.

According to the timetable of investigation, U.S. International Trade Commission will make a preliminary ruling on injury around May 16, 2011, and then the US Department of Commerce will make the preliminary rulings on subsidy and dumping respectively on June 24 and September 7, 2011.

The investigated galvanized steel wire is a kind of carbon steel products formed by cold working with a circle diameter of more than or equal to 0.5842 mm, and this product is normally molded by wortle cold draw with steel wire rods and metal wires and then processed by dip coating or electroplate craft on the surface.

The investigated products are widely used in agriculture, automobile manufacturing, architecture, equipments and other industrial fields, and also used in manufacturing of semi-finished products for some steel-wire products.

This product is under U.S. HS code of 7217.20.30 and 7217.20.45, and sometimes imported under the HS codes of 7229.20.0015, 7229.90.5008, 7229.90.5016, 7229.90.5031, and 7229.90.5051.
