The U.S. AD Duty on China's High-Press Steel Cylinders

On Dec. 8, 2011, the U.S. Department of Commerce made a preliminary ruling to impose antidumping (AD) duty from 5.08% to 26.23% on China's high-pressure steel cylinders.

According to U.S. procedure, the U.S. International Trade Commission will make a ruling before the antidumping duty is formally imposed. According to current schedule, the U.S. Department of Commerce will make a final ruling in February 2012, and the U.S. International Trade Commission will make a final ruling in April 2012.

Norris Cylinder Company, the only high-pressure steel cylinder manufacturer in the U.S., lodged a complaint with the U.S. Department of Commerce in the first half year, requesting to impose antidumping duty on such products from China.
