EU Takes AD Probe on China's Ceramics/Pipe Fittings

Brussels, February 16 (Reuters) – The EU has launched a new investigation on dumping of China's involved goods, which is likely to cause increase in import tariffs on China.

Karel De Gucht, EU trade commissioner, also warns that the Chinese dumping is likely to cause European opposition against free trade.

The European Commission stated that the new investigation will confirm whether China dumped ceramics and pipe fittings into Europe and whether those products caused injury to EU industry.

The EU has nine months to decide whether to impose provisional tariffs, but must terminate the investigation within 15 months. If China is confirmed to dump, analysts say that the EU can impose the antidumping duty up to 50% of the goods value.
