On April 13, Brazil's foreign-trade authority announced its launching anti-dumping (AD) investigations into flat-seizing austenitic 304 (304, 304L and 304H) stainless steels and cold-rolled ferrite 430 stainless steels (thickness no less than 0.35mm but less than 4.75mm) originating in South Africa, Germany, China, South Korea, the U.S., Finland, Chinese Taiwan and Vietnam, which are under Mercosur HS Codes 72193200, 72193300, 72193400, 72193500, 72202090.

Since China is not regarded as a market economy, Chinese Taiwan will be chosen as a substitute to calculate the normal value of China-made products.

Other interested parties can apply for participating in the investigations within 20 days from the announcement date, with their legal representatives indicated.

Among numerous manufacturers, the Brazilian authority will select those having bigger export volume as its respondents, who are required to fill in relevant questionnaires and give reply within 40 days from the questionnaire sending dates.

Brazil's trade protection bureau tel. +55 61 2027-7770/2027-7357, fax +55 61 2027-7445.

Chinese enterprises can contact China Chamber of Commerce of Metals Minerals & Chemicals Importers & Exporters (CCCMC), tel. 010-85692780 and fax 010-65882821.
