On August 10, in a State Council news conference, China's vice minister of commerce indicated that China-ASEAN free trade area has pushed forward bilateral trade liberalization since its formation in January 2010.

Reportedly, China and six elder ASEAN members have implemented zero-duty policy on more than 90% of their traded goods, which is also expected to achieve in 2015 by four new members of the ASEAN.

Moreover, the liberalization of their trade in services is being promoted following their conclusion in November 2011 of a protocol on bilateral second-batch commitments.
