China will launch a review of existing anti-dumping measures on Bisphenol-A (BPA) imported from Japan, Singapore, the Republic of Korea (ROK) and Taiwan starting from August 30, 2012, the Ministry of Commerce (MOC) said on August 29, 2012.

The review will conclude before Aug. 30, 2013, the MOC said in an online statement.

During the one-year review, China will continue to impose the same anti-dumping duty rates set by the ministry in previous notices issued in 2007 and 2009, the MOC said.

In March 2007, the ministry said in a notice that it would impose anti-dumping duties on BPA produced in Japan, Singapore, the ROK and Taiwan from Aug. 30, 2007 to Aug. 30, 2012.

According to the circular, Chinese importers of BPA had to pay duties to offset damage caused by BPA producers in those countries and the region during the five-year period.

BPA, a type of organic chemical, is widely used in plastic product manufacturing.
