U.S. Complains about China's Auto Export Subsidy

[2012-09-19 13:56:53]

Reported by the Associated Press on Sept. 16, President Obama planned to file complaints with the World Trade Organization against China on Sept. 17, charging Beijing with subsidy for automobile exports to the U.S.

The U.S. administration holds that China "illegally" subsidizes its export autos and auto products so as to weaken the American auto manufacturers, making them outsource products to China.

In July, the U.S. filed a WTO suit against Chinese taxation of USD 3 billion on import U.S.-made autos.

Shown by U.S. statistics, from 2001 to 2010, U.S. auto industry saw its employment downward and import of auto parts from China up over 7 times.
