EU Interim Review on China Steel Ropes/Cables Circumvention

 
On August 27, at the request of South Korean Goodwire MFG. Co. LTD, the EU launched an interim antidumping review on steel wire ropes/cables made in China and transited from South Korea under HS Codes ex73121081, ex73121083, ex73121085, ex73121089 and ex73121098.

In May 1998, the EU started the antidumping probe on the China-made steel ropes/cables;

In August 2009, the EU started an anti-circumvention probe on the Chinese products transited from South Korea and Malaysia;

In May 2010, the EU made a final ruling that imposes 60.4% antidumping duties on the steel ropes/cables transited from South Korea regardless of being labeled as made in China.
