Russia Again Postponed The Raise Of Export Tariffs On Logs

According to information released by the Russian Government Network, December 23^rd, 2009 Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin signed the Government Decree No. 1071 "On the export tariffs of individual types of raw timber to non-members of the Customs Union Agreement", and decided to re–delay the increase of export tariffs on logs.

 

By the order, export tariffs on log in 2010 will remain at the level of 2009, and will significantly increase to 80% in 2011, but not less than 50 Euros / cubic meter. This order shall become effective as of January 1, 2010.

 

Prior to that, the Russian government had enacted the Government Decree No. 982 on December 24, 2008 postpone the increase of the log export tariffs from 2009 to 2010.
