The Philippines Cancelled Import Duty on Rolled Steels, Asphalt, Crude Oil, and Petroleum Chemicals

According to a report on June 28, 2010 from the Philippine the Star, Philippine President Ms. Arroyo respectively signed the Executive Order No. 890 and the Executive Order No. 898 on June 10, 2010 and June 22, 2010, canceling the import duty on rolled steels, asphalt, crude oil, and petroleum chemicals so as to keep in step with other ASEAN countries.

Previously, Global Steel Philippines Inc. and others were strongly opposed to the cancellation of import duty on rolled steels.
