According to a report from a Philippine media, the Department of Trade and Industry of the Philippines plans to extend the zero-tariff policy on cement and flour once again, the second extension of the zero-tariff policy on such products.

Undersecretary with the Department of Trade and Industry of the Philippines, Maglaya, said that it is an option of the Philippine Government to stabilize prices and ensure supplies by extending the zero import tariff policy on cement and flour.

However, industrial insiders make strong appeal for the restoration of the import tariffs of 5% on cement and 3% on flour.
