The Department of Trade and Industry of the Philippines to Impose Tariffs of 20% on Imported Ethanol

According to the vice director of the Department of Trade and Industry of the Philippines, the current 10% import tariff make domestically produced ethanol unable to compete with the imported ethanol, therefore the import tariff shall be raised to 20%.
The EPAP also called for a tariff increase on imported ethanol; they indicated that the imported ethanol from Brazil and Thailand has lower prices and the ideal import tariffs shall be around 30%.
