Sri Lanka to Reduce Import Tariffs on Edible Oils and Vegetables

As indicated by a senior official from the Ministry of Finance of Sri Lanka, the Sri Lankan Government decided to reduce the import tariffs on edible oils and main vegetables so as to increase domestic supply of like products and stabilize prices.
Therein, the import tariff on coconut oil shall be reduced to 15 rupees per kilogram from 35 rupees per kilogram, that on other edible oils shall be reduced to 10 rupees per kilogram from 35 rupees per kilogram; and that on potatoes and onions shall be reduced to 10 rupees per kilogram from respectively 30 rupees per kilogram and 25 rupees per kilogram.
