Argentina Imposes Final AD Duty on Rubber Tires

On June 22, 2011, the Government of Argentina, by means of Resolution 221/2011, closed an anti-dumping investigation on imports of new rubber tires used in travel cars (including racing and family cars), buses or trucks (except those measuring 11, 00-24); and new rubber tires used in farming or forestation machines or vehicles from the People's Republic of China (N.C.M. 4011.10.00, 4011.20.90, 4011.61.00, 4011.92.10 and 4011.92.90).

The dumping margin for the purpose of opening the investigation was calculated to be 167,32 %. The Government applied a final ad valorem anti-dumping duty amounting to 23% (in the case of tires for travel cars), 10% (in the case of tires for farming or forestation machines or vehicles) and 17% (in the case of tires for buses or trucks) over the FOB export price. The measure will be in force for 2 years, effective June 22, 2011. The measure is suspended for 6 months regarding radial tires with a diameter of 13 inches and 165mm of width.
