Brazil Takes AD on Uruguayan & Paraguayan Fiber Blankets

[2012-03-01 10:33:53]

According to Uruguayan El Paison of February 15, Brazil decided to impose the antidumping (AD) duty of USD 5.22/kg on macro-fiber blankets originating in Uruguay and Paraguay, which sets a precedent that Mercosur members take antidumping measures on each other.

In April 2010, Brazil took antidumping measures on China's macro-fiber blankets for 5 years. This time, Brazil thinks the blankets from Uruguay and Paraguay used China-made raw materials, therefore, it decided to take the same antidumping measures on them.

Affected by that, 14 Uruguayan enterprises have encountered barriers to their exports, more than 1,000 employees involved.
