Thailand Gives Zero Duty to Japanese Auto Parts

Recently, a Thai official revealed that Thailand's financial ministry has released a catalog of duty-free automobile parts imported from Japan, totaling more than 140 items with zero import duty that is reduced from previous 10%-20%.

Reportedly, the duty-free auto-parts catalog contains two sections applicable to the years 2012 and 2014 respectively.

The zero-duty treatment from April 1, 2012 is applied to camshafts, bent axles, wheel gears, gearboxes, engines, generators, joysticks, bracing wires, safety belts, brakes, directional axles, shock absorbers, water tanks, clutches, exhaust pipes, steering wheels, SRS, fuel tanks, cylinder stators, etc.
