Argentina Raises Biodiesel Export Duty

Argentina authority recently ordered to raise export duty on biodiesels and gradually revoke its soybean import ban so as to stabilize domestic biodiesel price.

According to the order, the biodiesel export duty rate is raised from 20% to 32%.

Argentina, the world biggest exporter of biodiesels, had an annual biodiesel output of 2.40 million tons in 2011, with 1.70 million tons exported for USD 2.10 billion.
