Brazil Ups Import Duties on Non-Mercosur Goods

 
Reportedly, Brazil authority has managed to temporarily raise the duties from the rate 18% to 25% on 100 imports from outside the Mercosur, involving machineries, steels, petrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, and certain textile yarns under HS Code 55101100.

The authority says it will give the temporary duty hike to 300 import goods in total, the 100 herein as the first batch that is prepared for the period of from September 20, 2012 to September 20, 2013, and probably extensible till the end of 2014.
