Reportedly, the Eurasian Economic Commission has decided to lower the import duties on some of shrimps and shrimp products, with the rates on those in non-sealed packages lowered to 17% of customs value but not less than 0.34 euro per kg.

The new lower duties will take effect from January 1, 2013, as a Russian commitment to the WTO.

The Eurasian Economic Commission, founded in late 2011, acts as a unified, permanent, coordinating and super-national organization for Russia-Belarus-Kazakhstan Customs Union and Single Economic Space.
