On September 4, Pakistan's taxation authority announced that it will issue tax-exemption certificates for the imports of industrial raw materials only as per the country's 2001-year income taxation regulations.
The exemption certification requires that the importing materials are only for self-use and relevant taxes/fees are already paid. Specifically, the taxpayers should submit applications providing import quantity and quality; such certificates should be valid for current quarter only; the import quantity may not exceed 110% of that of previous quarter.
