Myanmar Exports Duty-Free to ASEAN Countries

If origin criteria are met, Myanmar's exports will be duty-free toward ASEAN member states. At present, totally 2,652 goods under the origin criteria have boosted the trade volume between the country and the ASEAN countries.

According to Burmese statistics, Myanmar's foreign trade reached USD 15.54 Billion for April-November 2013, with export value at USD 7.14 Billion and import value USD 8.4 Billion; export commodities included rice, corn, peas, beans, sesame, rubber, seafood, teak, hard wood, natural gas, jade, clothing, etc., while imports were dairy products, palm oil, pharmaceuticals, cement, machinery, electronic equipment and plastics.

By estimate, entire 2013-14 fiscal year targets the trade worth more than USD 25 billion.
